Creating solutions that strengthen markets
We strengthen local capacity to improve market access by supporting country partners in designing and implementing data-driven market solutions.
- Supporting product introduction
-
PATH participates in the Partnership for Vivax Elimination (PAVE), which is leading market access work and operational research to foster access to critical malaria commodities, including G6PD diagnostics, tafenoquine, and primaquine for adults and children, across 15 malaria-endemic countries.
In partnership with India, Kenya, Senegal, and Tanzania—through the Tools for Integrated Management of Childhood Illness project—PATH conducts implementation research to generate data on impact, cost-effectiveness, and best practices to integrate pulse oximetry and clinical decision support algorithms into primary health care systems in over 300 facilities.
- Designing tools to enhance decision-making
-
PATH’s Market Dynamics and Sexual and Reproductive Health programs developed the Cervical Precancer Planning Tool to help decision-makers weigh the trade-offs between patient convenience and access, test performance, and improvements to efficiency. We then trained stakeholders from 30 countries on how to use the tool for strategic planning.
To support countries in COVID-19 respiratory care response, PATH developed a suite of resources, including supply intelligence briefs, country strategies, and technical reference materials, and disseminated them across 16 countries.
