Africa regional MNCH advocacy dialogues series
Accelerating progress to reach global maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) targets is possible, but it urgently requires robust partnerships across various stakeholders—including advocates—to achieve lasting improvements in health for women and children across Africa. By creating a space for advocates to connect with the necessary tools and strategies, PATH’s regional MNCH advocacy dialogues series seeks to support advocates in driving meaningful change and holding stakeholders accountable for their commitments.
On September 26, PATH hosted “Uniting forces for MNCH impact: The game changers,” the third in our dialogue series, highlighting the successes and lessons of MNCH coalitions to inform future advocacy strategies and ensure that accelerated action is both effective and sustainable. Experts shared their experiences in uniting efforts to advance the MNCH agenda to strengthen advocacy for increased domestic resource investments, policy adoption and implementation, leveraging qualitative and quantitative evidence, and amplifying community voices for the attention of decision-makers.
Hosted by Africa Health Budget Network, AlignMNH, PMNCH, PATH, and Samasha, The two-part webinar, “Tools for advancing maternal, newborn, and child health advocacy and accountability from subnational to global levels,” highlighted resources and approaches MNCH advocates can use to inform and enhance their work. Panelists presented various tools with an aim to help participants gain familiarity with new sets of tools to advance MNCH accountability and advocacy and to assist with tracking commitments.
