Our approach
We apply a human-centered approach to our work, collaborating with communities experiencing disproportionate burdens of disease and barriers to well-being.
Where we work
We have ongoing projects in Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Peru, and Venezuela, and have worked in the past in Bolivia, El Salvador, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Panama.
Project countries: Regional, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru
We develop affordable, portable, easy-to-use diagnostic tools and technologies, including breast and cervical cancer screening tools, as well as COVID-19 technical assistance and laboratory capacity-strengthening.
Project countries: Regional, Honduras
We are working with governments and regional partners to assess the maturity of country contexts for the adoption of artificial intelligence and to deploy digital tools that support vaccine uptake. We also have engaged with countries to inform global health data governance guidance and develop and translate digital health training materials for local use.
Project countries: Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama, Peru, Venezuela
We work to identify and implement the most appropriate, equitable, and impactful package of existing tools and approaches to control and eliminate malaria. We have been supporting countries across the Latin American region to strengthen malaria elimination efforts through the introduction of new diagnostic and treatment tools, and by generating local evidence through operational studies.
Project countries: Peru
We monitor and analyze markets in partnership with country governments to ensure that appropriately designed and quality-assured health products are produced and distributed at an affordable price. In Peru, we are partnering with the Ministry of Health to complete a costing analysis of the country’s oxygen supply.
Project countries: Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru
We reimagine primary health care through a multi-disciplinary, person-centered approach. In Latin America, we have been supporting countries to scale-up HIV self-testing, developing new treatment regimens that reduce burden on patients and health systems, and conducting research to develop evidence-based interventions to address mental health concerns—particularly targeted for young people.
Project countries: Brazil
We work to ensure sustainable, integrated solutions to advance immunization for all. We are currently partnering with Brazilian vaccine manufacturers to enhance their manufacturing and equality management system capabilities.
