Addressing Breast Cancer in Low Resource Settings
In low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), too many women are suffering and dying from breast cancer, a cancer which can be successfully treated if detected early. Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer among women worldwide, with over 2 million new cases estimated in 2020; more than 625,000 women die every year from breast cancer[i]. Most of these deaths occur in LMICs, where late-stage presentation and inaccessible diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer are common.
