In light of the World Health Organization's guidelines for outpatient treatment of neonatal sepsis when referral is not feasible, this brief provides an analysis of relevant technical, regulatory, manufacturing, procurement, logistical, and training considerations of a customized, marked syringe for delivery of gentamicin.
