Strengthening neonatal health care system in underserved areas

Neonatal mortality is a critical challenge in underserved areas like Dharni, Maharashtra, where limited access to healthcare and tough terrain hinder timely medical intervention. To address this, PATH, in collaboration with AIIMS Nagpur, introduced a tele-SNCU hub-and-spoke model, leveraging telemedicine to provide real-time consultations and remote monitoring for newborns.

This project brief highlights the implementation of this tele-SNCU model, which has significantly reduced neonatal deaths and referrals, enhancing care quality and contributing to progress toward SDG targets.
