Uganda recognizes immunization as key to achieving universal health coverage, as evidenced by its inclusion as a major strategy to achieve the Ministry of Health Sector Strategic Plan (2021/22-2025/26) objective of reducing VPDs. To achieve the country’s immunization goals, the government has implemented activities aligning with ADI commitments under the Uganda National Expanded Programme on Immunization (UNEPI). When it comes to assessing the success of these activities and the country’s progress on advancing immunization commitments, Uganda is trailblazing new efforts to boost compliance with ADI commitments, including through the development of a scorecard to enable accountability for upholding immunization commitments.
