With the aim of galvanizing efforts to improve vaccination in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), PATH partnered with the newly elected government in 2019 to convene governors and leaders from each of the DRC’s 26 provinces for the National Forum on Immunization and Polio Eradication. At the Forum, government leaders discussed joint efforts to strengthen the country’s immunization system and advance progress toward polio eradication, and ultimately signed the Kinshasa Declaration on Immunization and Polio Eradication—an unprecedented show of commitment made possible by PATH's advocacy.
