Approaches to implementing and financing primary health care in Kenya
In September 2024, the Kenya Ministry of Health published and disseminated an assessment report and technical brief exploring primary health care (PHC) implementation across Kisumu, Nakuru, Vihiga, Makueni, Garissa, Mombasa, and Nyeri counties. The analysis highlights Kenya's significant progress in establishing Primary Health Care Networks (PCNs) to improve access to essential services and emphasizes the important role PHC plays in achieving universal health coverage. PATH has been supporting the Ministry in the rollout of PCNs at the county level and was a critical partner in the analysis presented in the report.
