PATH welcomes Nabeel Goheer as Chief of Asia, Middle East, Europe (AMEE) Region
Dr. Nabeel Goheer is joining PATH to serve as the Chief of Asia, Middle East, Europe (AMEE) Region. In this role, he will provide strategic leadership and guidance, overseeing program activities in the regional hubs in South Asia, South East Asia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, China, and Western Europe, as well as PATH’s other projects in the region. He will also develop and execute on strategies to expand and grow the AMEE portfolio into new regions, including the Middle East and additional countries in Asia.
Dr. Goheer will sit in the Executive Team and be responsible for advancing locally-designed public health solutions for the communities PATH serves, and for developing and executing on strategies to expand and grow PATH's portfolio into new regions.
With near 30 years of experience, Dr. Goheer has held positions around the world, in South Asia, Middle East, North Africa, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean with organizations such as the World Bank, United Nations Development Program, USAID, International Labor Organization (ILO) and the Government of Pakistan in progressively responsible positions in a range of development, management and policy issues.
Before joining PATH, he spent the last ten years assisting and representing the Commonwealth Secretary-General while providing leadership in the areas of strategy, governance, partnerships, portfolio, evaluation, technology, innovation, and digitalization.

In August 2020, PATH announced global leadership changes and created the roles of the Chief of Asia, Middle East, Europe (AMEE) Region and the Chief of the African Region, which is held by Dr. Nanthalile Mugala. These positions support the global organization’s next strategy toward a more equitable organization and advance a sustainability agenda.
