PATH appoints Meïssa Diaw as Chief People and Diversity Officer

Seattle, WA - Meïssa Diaw, formerly Human Resources Director for Africa, is taking on new responsibilities at PATH to serve as the organization’s first Africa-based Chief People and Diversity Officer. Based in Senegal, he will direct PATH’s global HR functions and lead an empowered team of HR specialists across Asia, Africa, and North America.

In addition to leading PATH’s HR strategy and vision, Meïssa’s leadership responsibilities will encompass organizational planning and policy, employee relations, total rewards, diversity, inclusion and belonging, performance management, compliance, HR systems and learning. He will ensure PATH’s mission and values drive the organization’s talent strategy and management practices, guided by the knowledge that people are central to PATH’s impact.

Meïssa has led teams and HR initiatives for civil society organizations and corporations across Africa and the Middle East throughout his 20-year career, nearly a decade of which has been in service to PATH. For PATH’s Africa Region, he led HR across country offices and supported PATH’s global leadership changes such as the appointment of a Chief of Africa and the implementation of the regional leadership team.

Prior to joining PATH, Meïssa provided HR leadership at SOS Children’s Villages, DAMCO, Maersk, and Philip Morris International. He resides with his family in Senegal and is fluent in French, English, and Wolof.
