The EU as a strategic platform for global health

PATH and EUTOPIA co-hosted a podcast discussion on the European Union’s (EU's) influence in steering global health outcomes.

In this informative session, experts from EU–focused organizations convened to discuss the EU's strategic role in shaping global health initiatives. Panelists provided valuable insights on actions that should be taken at the EU level to advance health advocacy, including:

  • The need to prioritize local solutions while amplifying the voices of local communities and health workers in shaping EU health policies.
  • The value of advocating for a coordinated response, ensuring that civil society organizations, governmental bodies, and international donors effectively collaborate and align their efforts with the EU's health strategy.
  • How to strengthen health advocacy across different levels by elevating the voices of affected populations, centering the work of civil society organizations, and sharing opportunities, learnings, and challenges at the regional and global levels.
