A young woman overcomes despair to give courage to her HIV-positive peers. Men who have sex with men use social media to share tips on how to protect themselves from the disease. Advocates take to the streets to ensure that HIV drugs are available—and the government takes notice. PATH honors the women and men living with HIV who support each other, and we stand with them at each step of their journey.
PATH has been protecting people from HIV since the late 1980s, when we developed the first single-use, disposable syringe, called Soloshot™, to reduce the risk of person-to-person transmission of HIV and other blood-borne diseases.
Since then, we have worked in more than 35 countries to prevent HIV, expand testing, and ensure care and treatment. Our projects range from developing lifesaving tools to supporting services for tens of millions of people each year. Explore our work in eight countries across three continents.
