Take the Nifty Cup, for example. PATH and our partners designed a special cup mothers can use to nourish infants who are unable to breastfeed. In 2016, PATH and Laerdal Global Health began a collaboration to bring the cup to market. Today, the Nifty Feeding Cup is being distributed in more than 40 countries, nourishing precious infants the world over!
MenAfriVac® is another story of PATH’s unparalleled scale. Without treatment, meningitis A kills nearly half of those it infects and leaves survivors with lifelong disabilities. When leaders of African nations put out a call for a solution, we partnered with the World Health Organization to develop MenAfriVac—the first affordable vaccine against meningitis A. Today, MenAfriVac is protecting more than 300 million people in sub-Saharan Africa. Every single year it prevents 1 million cases of meningitis A, 150,000 deaths, and 250,000 cases of severe disability.
