Providing strategic guidance to our work in vaccine development

PATH’s work on developing vaccines against enteric diseases is guided by a scientific advisory board. We invited key experts to join the advisory board to provide strategic input in conducting a process of technology evaluation, selection, and prioritization for project support. We then began collaborating with private- and public-sector partners to advance the development of several of the most promising vaccine candidates. The board continues to play a key role in this process, meeting regularly to discuss the vaccine portfolio and address technical issues, review data and progress made to-date, and provide recommendations on issues as they arise.

The following is a list of the scientific advisory board members for the enteric vaccine development project:

  • John Clemens, MD, Director General, International Vaccine Institute
  • John Clements, PhD, Professor and Chair, Tulane University
  • Bernard Fanget, MD, CEO, Bernard Fanget Consulting
  • John Mekalanos, PhD, Adele Lehman Professor of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Harvard Medical School
