New partnerships against TB

Funding from the Government of Vietnam will help PATH work to improve tuberculosis (TB) case detection and treatment in nine provinces throughout the country. The grant marks the first time an international nongovernmental organization has received funding through Vietnam's Ministry of Health to implement activities on behalf of the government.
The 5-year, $8 million project aims to expand participation from the public and private sectors to increase detection of TB cases and improve treatment services. PATH will also work to mobilize political support and leadership for TB control strategies, inform and empower people affected by TB, and encourage communication.
PATH will lead implementation of the activities, working with a variety of partners from the public and private sectors. Partners include the National TB Control Program, Vietnam Medical Association, National Center for Health Education and Communication, Women's Union, and Vietnam Red Cross Society.
The Government of Vietnam received funding through the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria’s Round 9 application process. PATH is a subrecipient to the Vietnam National TB Control Program, a part of the Ministry of Health.
