PATH staff will highlight our work in maternal health technologies and medicines
PATH staff will join more than 700 health experts from around the world to share our work on maternal health technologies and medicines at the 2013 Global Maternal Health Conference, January 15 to 17 in Arusha, Tanzania. The conference will focus on research, best practices, and efforts to prevent maternal mortality and morbidity through improving the quality of maternal health services.
PATH staff will present on our work on technologies, such as a nonpneumatic antishock garment and low-cost uterine balloon tamponades. We will also be talking about strategies to prevent and manage obstetric complications and to improve access to essential maternal health medicines.

Production strategy for increasing access to high-quality, affordable medicines. Mutsumi Metzler, commercialization officer, will discuss an assessment tool that helps program planners and manufacturers assess opportunities for local production of essential generic drugs and optimize pathways to product registration and use.
