In parts of Kenya, half of all girls marry by their 19th birthdays, increasing their chances of poverty, HIV/AIDS, early pregnancy, and dropping out of school. PATH’s project for married adolescents helps married girls in Nyanza and Western provinces learn how to communicate with their husbands, care for their children, and contribute to their families’ economic well-being, boosting their self-esteem and their status.
